Celebrating Local Chefs, Sustainability & Craft Beer
In an effort to raise awareness and financial support for Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen & Social Center we created an engaging fundraiser that supports our mission.
The fact that we rescue surplus food and transform it into nutritious meals gave us the idea of challenging local chefs to cook under the same conditions. We've partnered with Rhinegeist Brewery and created SCRAPS: Rescued Food Cook-Off, a one-day event with two competitions; a live chef battle and a cook-off battle.

Live Chef Battle at Our Daily Bread
2 Chefs battle it out in a “chopped” style competition in front of a live audience. Chefs have 20 minutes to make a dish using only rescued food. Emceed by Bob Herzog (Local 12) and judged by a celebrity panel.

Rescued Food Cook-Off at Rhinegeist
Chefs from the hottest restaurants in Over-the-Rhine transform rescued food into “by-the-bite” creations. Chefs receive a mystery ingredient from a food sponsor in advance and throw-down to create a unique dish. GA ticket holders enjoy the Live Chef Battle on a big screen live-streamed from Our Daily Bread to Rhinegeist.
